LOTOJA

I don't have much to say about LOTOJA. It was long and difficult. At mile 130 I was with the front group. It was a 1, 2, 3 pack that I was racing in. There were 3 big attacks trying to get a break off the front. I was in the first 2 of these that did not last. I knew that the next one would be decisive and it was. I tried to go with it and was around 10 meters from getting on. That was the break that won it. I had a teammate in there so when I got back to the pack I began blocking. This lasted for about 30 miles. I didn't get any food in the last 70 miles as Bre missed the last feed zone so at 10 miles to go I was cooked. The difference between 10th and 22nd was the pack I was in. At 6 miles to go I just let them all go free and struggled in for 22nd place. All I could think about at the end was that commercial of the Wendy's hamburger with the 3 patties on it...with a ton of mayo on it. I don't even eat hamburgers and I hate mayo. It was the worst I have suffered physically ever. I think with food in the last part of the race I would have done much better but in a 206 mile race you have to feed perfectly. I think I am done with LOTOJA. It has been a week since the race and I have no desire to do it again.
